Tap the swamp and go for a beer: the man with no plan gets back into Magic the Gathering

Seasoned Magic The Gathering players may remember their first ever deck of this world famous collectable card game but I sure don't. All I remember was that it was mostly blue, bought in the early 2000s, had a wizard creature that made people forget stuff (or something) and I eventually sold it on eBay for a few bucks because I wasn't using it. Fast forward to the back end of 2021 and I've decided to get back into this game once more so I've got something to play with my son (and take him away from video games.) For Xmas I got a couple of starter decks and today I've just bought my first booster in almost two decades. This is all I'm going to need for world MtG domination yeah? Let's open this baby up and hope for some game breaking zombies shall we!

I wrote it, now I'm reading it! (free audiobook)

So four and a bit years ago, I wrote and published my very first book - The Adventures of Almigo: One man, no plan and everything that happens along the way.  Fast track to now and slowly but surely it's turning into an audiobook! Oh did I mention you can listen to it for free? Oh I haven't? Okay, you can listen to it for free!

The magnificent seven (yabbies)

For the briefest moment over the Christmas holidays, life was calm. It was just me, a cold beer and a decent sized dam ready to be explored. And even though the family joined me soon after my discovery of the first yabbie, I still spent the good part of an afternoon relaxing, sipping and occasionally cheering as each yabbie joined the collection. Moon's out, so it's Yabbie time! Come and meet the dam family!

Installing a 3d Touch probe to an Ender 3 V2 3D Printer

Sigh, things shouldn't be this hard should they? And yet the small package arrived with no instructions at all, a couple of screws, a couple of wires and that's about it. Leaving me to (along with Google) to figure where everything goes. I got there in there end but just before I ripped out the whole thing and set it on fire out of frustration..

The people are real, the reviews are real, the reasons for low ratings are hilarious - in today's best of the worst we found out how bad things can get when you're just hanging for a burger..

Best of the worst: Pizza

The people are real, the comments are real, the reviews are...not good. Today for our very first Best of the Worst list it's all about the Pizzas..

Is it really a Bluetooth Christmas?

So I read somewhere over the weekend that the number one present a lot of people are hoping to unwrap under the Christmas tree is....drum roll please...an outdoor Bluetooth speaker! Wait, what?

After 100 decent workouts in a year, here's what I learnt

To anyone with a gym membership that actually uses it, 100 workouts in a single year probably isn't that great a feat. But to someone like me with no gym membership and just a collection of odd weight plates and bars in the backyard, well nailing the ton when it comes to workout sessions is something I'm pretty happy with. Especially when I'm 41 years old, asthmatic and something like this caps off my biggest year of fitness ever.  However it wasn't without it's lessons along the way..

Lose weight AND blood!

So I'm coming up to 100 decent workouts for the year 2021 which if you know me at all, means I've been working through my most fitness-centric year in existence. Inspired by hitting age 40, wanting to spend more time outside than in front of a screen and with covid 19 forcing me to enjoy more time at home, I've almost hit the 100 mark which is a huge achievement for me.   What time is it? Kettle bell time! Only on workout 99, I'm fighting more than work tiredness and lack of sleep - I'm waging war against an airborne horde..
