It's been real, thanks Blogger! Hey thanks for checking out this page! After 10 years of posting here and over 600 posts, it's time to try something new at over possibly greener pastures. Which means you can now find me and all my random adventuring ways over at One Man Many Plans .
Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece...
We're getting right into the real Flo, yo.
After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song! A lot of people have instantly taken it upon themselves to describe the song as a general unabashed ditty about oral sex. They claim that the song is the joy Flo feels when he teaches the joy of oral sex to any fine looking woman who has a large ass standing nearby. Obviously being a rapper, these people have surmised that from start to finish, the song is all about fellatio (and whistling) as Flo Rida's lyrics usually have the subtly of a platinum plated steam powered sledgehammer.
However this time these people are so incredibly off the mark, that there aren't any marks left within 100ks.
The song, 'Whistle' by Flo Rida...is actually about netball.
Yes, netball.
Flo Rida loves netball!
Well actually umpiring in netball to be exact.
You see it's a little known fact that Flo Rida is actually a fully qualified netball umpire and a massive supporter of this sport. Ever since he could rap, he could netball. His best friend in school? A netball. And when he graduated from Florida Tech, he majored in both Musical Theory and Netball with majors in umpiring. Now obviously there's a lot more money in becoming a rapper than there ever will be umpiring netball, but it's good to see that he's remained true to his (netball) roots. And just like 'Right round' (which is another song about netball, namely throwing a netball 'right round') 'whistle' takes a look at the glory of an action packed game of netball from the perspective of an umpire.
Only this time Flo Rida is singing about the beauty of training up rookie umpires and the importance of proper whistle blowing technique when calling fouls and starting rounds.
He gets so animated when he umpires! 'You! Toe the line!'
Take a look at a lyrical extract from 'Whistle' so I can further bash forward my point:
Can you blow my whistle baby, whistle baby Let me know Girl I'm gonna show you how to do it And we start real slow You just put your lips together And you come real close Can you blow my whistle baby, whistle baby Here we go
It's a wonderful passage of Flo Rida passing down the secrets to sharp and succinct whistle blows to those new to the umpiring biz so that those on court can hear it. And being such a gentleman, Flo has even offered up his own whistle for demonstration.
A student of Flo Rida's. And look at how effective she has become!
It's like everywhere I go My whistle ready to blow
You see, he's ready the instant a game of netball breaks out, anywhere. That's the sign of a true umpire, one whose ready to officiate the game at the drop of a hat. That's Flo Rida baby, whistle man extraordinaire!
Show me your perfect pitch, You got it my banjo Talented with your lips, like you blew out candles
He even shows appreciation of the effort put in by his students, passing out compliments to encourage more in depth whistle development.
A fit umpire is a good umpire.
It's a song about netball umpiring, people.
What were you thinking?
You can even grab the song from right here! (Now that you've learnt what the song is about, you might as well reward yourself with a listen..)

31/5 ADDITIONAL: Even social media is starting to become aware of the true meaning of it:
Correct!
Twitteriffic!
2/6 ADDITIONAL: The questions about this song have reached an international level! Welcome to all the Dutch visitors!
A rough translation: It has an ambiguous meaning. Play on the whistle may also mean: perform sexual acts with my male geslachtsdeel. But the song is about volleyball, and the arbitrator with his whistle.
What think you? He will not on its dwarsfluit have…
Never heard it called a geslachtsdeel before though...

26/7/12 I'm really not sure what the hell this is all about (I mean apart from the obvious fact that it's a kid on Youtube swaying around to the song...oh and I like how he's just copied and pasted a massive slab of this post to explain what it's about...where's my credit you crazy little munchkin?). Still, he does point out in my copied explanation that it's about Netball so I guess that's something...
30/7/2012 And you won't stop, cos you can't stop...

2021 update
Well it's been a little under 9 years since I unleashed this amazing secret to the world. And you'd be thinking that after all this time, surely the explanation wouldn't be talked about to this day because it's just been accepted as gospel, surely.
Oh no.
If you enjoyed your time here, tips are always appreciated with all money going to my next lunatic adventure! Thanks in advance :)
Wow, love the feedback guys. But when I last had drinks with Flo Rida before I went to Hugh Hefners 109th birthday party, he admitted to me that it was definately about netball.
I was honestly thinking it was about sex,, EVERYONE who has heard the song probaly thinks the same, heaps strange a rapper would sing about Netball. but yeah,, just comes to show the dirty minded people we have. Hahaha =)
Thanks mate - it's quite amusing how many people take what they read on the internet for granted and immediately get into a huff about it without any thought about it's validity ;)
Although I might have to get rid of this Anonymous option as it looks like there's one person here whose arguing back and forth about the songs real meaning.
Once again, appreciate the feedback guys - especially those who pointed out how wrong I was before realizing (or not) the article was satirical - ha, like it was EVER about oral sex! Please, get your mind out of the gutter ;)
lol if u compare the penis with whistle u can know, my long pipe she ll put in his mouth n air means sperm will come throw the two balls like a whistle have ..
If it is about net ball then why their official video doesn't show anything of it! instead just pay attention to the girl's poses!!! however i really wish what you say is right because i like the song
Man I wish this were a reality, this was well written and entertaining. It would also make more sense if Flo Rida had gone to a Florida post-secondary school instead of University of Nevada.
If you wish hard enough Earthion3, you never know ;)
Also can I just thank you for a comment that isn't littered with 'OMGZX!!! LOLZ NETBALLS? YOU IDIOT!!! HAVE YO LISTENEZD TO THA SONG?? ROFL HURRR DURR!' like I usually recieve via email and twitter - it's truly refreshing. You're welcome anytime :D
Right now I'm in a very conservative Caucasian region, and a folk from here plays it really loud every day. Now, at least if one day his parents ask me what the song all the neighborhood hears every day is about, I have found what to say to save his honor. I'm sure he'll thank you (and netball) later.
You might not have been looking closely enough JJG but he actually winks at the camera when he explains everything. It's a subtle nod to the facts about Netball. Only those wise enough to realise it see the wink.
Rock, Paper, Scissor - the book. Good story about Netball though. I wonder if anyone fell for it? Surely they aren't too many people out there that gullible. Surely.
It's not about Netball. Listen to his own explanation. It's about "getting his attention." http://www.gorillaleak.com/making/flo-rida-reveals-meaning-behind-his-whistle-music-video
I know it's about Netball and all but what does the lines "I'm betting you like girls that give love to girls" and "Cause I love it how you drop it on me" about? How does that relate to Netball again? And explain how the song Right Round is also about because people says it's about strippers.. So LOST.
Easy questions there Angela - allow me to respond:
"I'm betting you like girls that give love to girls" - now what coach doesn't like female netball players who give other female netball players high fives and hugs for incredible plays and sportsmanship? That's team spirit!
Right round - 'throwing' a netball right around. It goes all over the court!
Hey Angela, the song Right Round had its origins in the 80's when it was sung by a band called Dead or Alive. Honestly the song wasn't dirty or anything, it was quite nice... until the modern days came and remade it.
I KNEW IT! I knew it wasn't about something nasty. It was about whistling! YaY! Thanks. Now I know the truth so I am no longer disappointed.. :DD One question though.. Why in the world is the music video of Whistle all full of girls? Like.. You know... I didn't see anything related to netball! Only whistling, women, and cliffs. That's why EVERYBODY misunderstood. So... Why? Why didn't it fully show that? Now I'm confused??? ANSWER ASAP!!! PLEASE.
It says (quote) "I bet you love girls who give love to girls and stroke your little ego" (unquote) if you can explain how that is about net ball please enlighten me. But if you can't then it isn't about net ball and it is about a bj. stop trying to make it clean.
THIS SONG IS DISGUSTING AND APPALLING TO KNOW THIS SONG IS ALLOWED ON THE RADIO. IT BEING ABOUT NETBALL, THAT IS A BUNCH OF HOG WASH. JUST MAKING IT SOME STUPID EXCUSE FOR IT NOT TO BE QUESTIONED PLEASE. WHO EVER BELIEVES THAT NONSENSE NEEDS TO QUIT BEING GULLIBLE.
This song is not about no dang netball. It's disgusting and for them to allow this on the radio is appalling. People stop being so gullible they only lie so that they don't get it band. The beastie boys got band way back when for their lyrics and this song is right up there with them.
wow! hahahaha my dirty mind ran ahead, well now I can listen to this with my parents in the room. :P And if they complain or say something I'll just tell them that it's about netball. Hahahaha
Just to show you how people are gulible when it comes to internet information. I can't believe it went this far and never in a million year I would have thought anybody would buy into any of that, blow my whstle a song about netball?! And people really get into that, buy that story and move on to the next level of naivity?! If you swallow a fish that big anything can be digested then....
obvious its about netball if it was about oral sex the world is fucked up cuz you carnt blow much with your lips together haha unless if men have tiny cocks now
the song right round is a remake of an 80's song by dead or alive so I'm pretty sure it's not about netball. I'm not saying "whistle" isn't but you seem a little obsessed with the whole netball thing
Is this an American blog site? As someone who used to play team basketball (netball, whatever), and familiar with vulgar American slang because I live here and hear how vulgar idiots speak now and then ... there is no way that this is about basketball/netball. No way. And if it were, Flo Rida (an American r&b/rapper) isnt moronic enough to NOT know that he is using double entendres. If an umpire or coach told my daughter during basketball practice to come blow his whistle I'd beat the shit out of him and have his ass thrown in jail. At best, its a clean way of saying "come give me a blow job" on mainstream radio and make some nice cash. Nice try. Catchy tune, crazy inappropriate on the mainstream airway. Look at all the lyrics, all of them, not just the one line. Something else to consider... who the hell needs a lesson on how to blow a whistle? Learn the rules of a team sport, know when to make calls, but how to BLOW a whistle? Really? Come on. Why dont we just say this is a Christian song and be really naive.
Check out video. Sexy women in bikinis, close up of their asses shaking while dancing at a club... not playing a single "sport" and this verse: "I'm betting you like people And I'm betting you love freak mode And I'm betting you like girls That give love to girls and stroke your little ego"
Girls that give love to girls? Probably when you foul someone in bball. Makes sense. :-/ I'm out. Enjoy the debate.
Yes I was going to write 'America' in my location but you have a supreme lack of kangaroos over there as well as wombats and drop bears so I got confused and wrote 'Australia' instead. Damn this Australian balmy climate. Whoops. She'll be right, bonza mate! (Carn the Tigers)
Thanks for your thoughts though and hopefully you don't get done for assaulting too many coaches any time soon.
dude whoever believes this is a retard it is totally about sex and a blow job. proves it in the lyrics "Go girl you can twerk it, Let me see you whistle while you work it I'mma lay it back, don't stop it 'Cause I love it how you drop it, drop it, drop it on me Now, shawty let that whistle blow-oh, oh oh Yeah, baby let that whistle blow-oh oh!" and also the song Right Round is about going to a club and giving money to the pole dancers. so with evidence like this, whoever believes that those songs are about netball are really stupid and gullible
Ok if it was really about netball. They could've made a music video to prove otherwise. The music video, lyrics everything point out to one thing- Blowjob.
With the exception of a few, most of these comments are from fairly anonymous locations (sure lots of people have seemed to sign up to Blogger to point out how wrong they think I am which is nice) - so it just goes to show that ignorance is a worldwide phenomina :D
Thanks for the Internet, did you want a slice? I really don't need ALL this porn :D
the people that believe this are slow 1. he never went to florida tech 2. you cant major in umpiring -_- 3. its about getting a girls attention 4. nobody cares about netball so why would a rapper making millions waste his time being a ref for a unpopular sport
Almigo you are awesome!!! The thread was realy intersting. You turned this whole flo rida 'whistle' thing into quite a funny business. Very witty i must say and pity for those who believed the netball theory! And you have a good hold on language, ever tried hand at writing some good comedy novels?
Well , not so fast, There is such a thing as a metaphor, is it just a strange coincidence that he choose to use those words which would predictively be misunderstood by so many without wanting the lyrics to be understood in the way that people commonly understand them. Not a likely circumstance.
Do you think we are stupid and would believe every word you say, Almigo, here is news for you "it is about Oral sex you Dumb ass!" Everyone knows how to blow a whistle, there is nothing to teach and the whole song is about it? You are just a fan boy covering up the truth. Grow up! Face the facts. Flo rida is Drug Dealer who promotes prostitution, and you are saying he is teaching netball? LOL!!!
ABC, thank you. Your strangle use of capital letters aside, your hilarious take on both Mr Rida and this humble little post reminds me of how incredibly amusing the Internet can truly be...
Bloody hell. You have literally made my night. XD Not only is Whistle one of my favorite songs but i don't think I've ever been so entertained before while reading a blog post. And I must say that the comments on this post of yours are worth reading alone. Such ignorant and silly people. I can definitely see the reasons made towards the netball meaning (although part of me feels like you are full of balarney) but my supremely R-rated mind automatically goes towards the fellatio meaning as well. However, I now have an answer for my 11year old sister when she asks what this song means. So thank you for that - saves me trying to explain blowjobs to her without crushing her poor innocence! Good luck on your trolling adventures! I completely approve. XD
I take my hat off to you, sir. One way or the other, you've managed to stay cool through a whole lot of baloney on either side without losing your head. It's been wildly entertaining reading this!
Almigo, I beilieve you that its about Netball. I was listening to this when my Mom came into the room I quickly shut it off and she said just laughed. She said "Don't worry! Its about Netball! Its not about what your thinking..." I was like DF! NETBALL! xD
Ahahahahah I just read this... Very impressive Almigo, you've managed to highlight one of the many flaws in the human population without a directed attack on any individual or group. It does make my faith in humanity waver though when I look at the sheer number of people that believed this.
I also heard that the Red Hot Chili Pepper's song Su¢k My Kiss song was about su¢king on a Hershey's White Chocolate Kiss. I read it on the internet somewhere in blog so it must be true! lulz
Yes, because I trust some random website with no credentials to tell me that this song that is obviously about getting your dick sucked is about being so nice that he lets you blow his whistle to learn how to properly blow a whistle as an umpire in netball..... stfu lmao that's the dumbest shit i've ever heard
It also says drop it on me. I love seeing you go down. along with twerk it. Then dont stop it cause ilove how u drop it drop it.. well if twerking and going down is a part of netball, well ill be damned, but for some reason i think theres a different meaning to the song...
no its not seriously thats ridiculous! as if a rapper will sing about netball!
ReplyDeleteanonymous fuck off, its obviously about netball
ReplyDeleteObviously!
DeleteYea like seriously LANGUAGE! IS IT REALLY THT HARD?!?!?
DeleteSpelling is obviously harder than language..
Deleteit's not about netball. watch his interview here http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1686214/flo-rida-whistle.jhtml
DeleteLanguage please, young children may be looking at this site. Its abou tboth but oral makes wayyyy more sense! 3==D
ReplyDeleteomg who evr you two are leave it heaps of other sites say oral. Think about it.
ReplyDeleteWow, love the feedback guys. But when I last had drinks with Flo Rida before I went to Hugh Hefners 109th birthday party, he admitted to me that it was definately about netball.
ReplyDeleteHis favorite netball is called Gary.
Think about it.
I was honestly thinking it was about sex,, EVERYONE who has heard the song probaly thinks the same, heaps strange a rapper would sing about Netball. but yeah,, just comes to show the dirty minded people we have. Hahaha =)
ReplyDeleteNetball? Even though people have said we have a dirty mind, it's obviously about some person giving him a blowy :p Use you brain :)
ReplyDeleteBwahaha, the amount of clowns who have taken this seriously is hilarious! Top job bloke, you've proved the internet is truly full of dickheads..
ReplyDeleteThanks mate - it's quite amusing how many people take what they read on the internet for granted and immediately get into a huff about it without any thought about it's validity ;)

Right, all fixed. Now back to telling me how enlightened you now all feel since you discovered this song was about Netball.
ReplyDeletelol if u compare the penis with whistle u can know, my long pipe she ll put in his mouth n air means sperm will come throw the two balls like a whistle have ..
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been looking way too hard into this song. A song about netball has never been so scrutinised so thoroughly!
DeleteIf it is about net ball then why their official video doesn't show anything of it! instead just pay attention to the girl's poses!!!
ReplyDeletehowever i really wish what you say is right because i like the song
OBVIOUSLY you'll get a lot more attention if you put sexy girls in a filmclip than you will if you fill it full of netballs. It's a scientific fact.
DeleteMan I wish this were a reality, this was well written and entertaining. It would also make more sense if Flo Rida had gone to a Florida post-secondary school instead of University of Nevada.
ReplyDeleteIf you wish hard enough Earthion3, you never know ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso can I just thank you for a comment that isn't littered with 'OMGZX!!! LOLZ NETBALLS? YOU IDIOT!!! HAVE YO LISTENEZD TO THA SONG?? ROFL HURRR DURR!' like I usually recieve via email and twitter - it's truly refreshing. You're welcome anytime :D

ReplyDeleteWe're onto you Mr Rida ;)
I'm starting to see a trend of people singing up to Blogger just so they can comment here.
ReplyDeleteNo need to thank me Blogger, all in a days work ;)
Rock, Paper, Scissor - the book. Good story about Netball though. I wonder if anyone fell for it? Surely they aren't too many people out there that gullible. Surely.
ReplyDeleteTerryd - this is the wild wild west of the internet...you already the answer to that one...
DeleteLMFAO I can't believe you trolled half the internet into believing this
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, it's a fun adventure c;
ReplyDeleteIt's not about Netball. Listen to his own explanation. It's about "getting his attention." http://www.gorillaleak.com/making/flo-rida-reveals-meaning-behind-his-whistle-music-video

ReplyDeleteI'm going to convince myself that it is about netball just so I don't feel so bad when I catch myself accidentally singing it in the car...
ReplyDelete;)
You should never feel bad about singing about netball. Flo Rida sure doesn't c:

ReplyDeleteWhoo whoo, its the fun police! Better stop trying to convince the world it's about anything but fellatio! :p
ReplyDeleteEr..no. I'll stop when this world does. As for your question, already answered in the comments. Turn your fun police siren off and take a look c;

You missed a couple of capital letters and a full stop at the end there mate.
DeleteP.s It's about Netball. Cheers!
Ok if it was really about netball. They could've made a music video to prove otherwise. The music video, lyrics everything point out to one thing- Blowjob.
ReplyDeleteWhat, you haven't seen the netball specific music video? Youtube took it down because it was too popular.
DeleteHate when that happens..
@madhavi...i purely agree wid u....blowjob...true...lmfao....:D :p
DeleteLOLWUT>!? Roflbulance!
DeleteThis thread wins the internet.
ReplyDeleteHaven't enjoyed reading the comments thread as much for ages.
Could you do a list showing the where the "wtf you moron this about bjs" respondents are by location?
I'm guessing mostly "American slang experts" :-P
With the exception of a few, most of these comments are from fairly anonymous locations (sure lots of people have seemed to sign up to Blogger to point out how wrong they think I am which is nice) - so it just goes to show that ignorance is a worldwide phenomina :D
DeleteThanks for the Internet, did you want a slice? I really don't need ALL this porn :D
ha yo pienso que esa canción tiene doble sentido...
ReplyDeleteEr...baik baik saja?
DeleteI'm glad. I don't want to listen to songs with a porn meaning :P
ReplyDeleteLucky that then ;)
Deletethe people that believe this are slow
ReplyDelete1. he never went to florida tech
2. you cant major in umpiring -_-
3. its about getting a girls attention
4. nobody cares about netball so why would a rapper making millions waste his time being a ref for a unpopular sport
I reckon a lot of those people you've called slow are still aware of the following:
Delete1. Capital letters.
2. Punctuation.
3. Apostrophes.
4. A love of netball.
5. Full stops.
Almigo you are awesome!!! The thread was realy intersting. You turned this whole flo rida 'whistle' thing into quite a funny business. Very witty i must say and pity for those who believed the netball theory! And you have a good hold on language, ever tried hand at writing some good comedy novels?
ReplyDeleteNo time for novels when there's so much entertainment right here :D Thanks for dropping by!
ReplyDeleteThere is two meaning out of the song a Netball and Sex!..
ReplyDeleteit depends on the people listen on it..
I find it very bubbly song.. and I like it..
I love this article. It's really funny how many people took this way too seriously, believing the theory or not.
ReplyDeleteWell , not so fast, There is such a thing as a metaphor, is it just a strange coincidence that he choose to use those words which would predictively be misunderstood by so many without wanting the lyrics to be understood in the way that people commonly understand them. Not a likely circumstance.
ReplyDeleteFlo Rida himself said that it has a sexual meaning... This is absurd!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.novafm.com.au/audio/flo-rida-explains-meaning-behind-whistle
You know what's absurd? Petrol prices! Seriously, over a $1.60 for premium? I have a rotary to run damnit!
ReplyDeleteHaha, wow. This level of idiocy is full of hilarity. You, sir, have brought a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Appreciate the visit and especially love the name! :D
DeleteDo you think we are stupid and would believe every word you say, Almigo, here is news for you "it is about Oral sex you Dumb ass!" Everyone knows how to blow a whistle, there is nothing to teach and the whole song is about it? You are just a fan boy covering up the truth. Grow up! Face the facts. Flo rida is Drug Dealer who promotes prostitution, and you are saying he is teaching netball? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteABC, thank you. Your strangle use of capital letters aside, your hilarious take on both Mr Rida and this humble little post reminds me of how incredibly amusing the Internet can truly be...
ReplyDeleteBloody hell.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your trolling adventures!
I completely approve. XD
I'm happy to hear that your sister will now appreciate the wonder and musicality of the humble netball! Thanks for stopping by, merry Xmas! c:
ReplyDeleteya know I believe you but still get dirty images when I read it sorry probably just how my mind process it..
ReplyDeleteonly a screwball would say its about netball.
ReplyDeleteJust like only a screwball would call themselves 'Big Daddy' eh? Touche!
ReplyDeleteits not about netball watch the music video
ReplyDeleteWhich one? The video with the netballs in it or the other one?
DeleteNOWWWW you meann to tell me this is aboutt netball and nott him getttin a bj -__- comee on ;p smh
ReplyDeleteAlmigo, i bow before you =D
ReplyDeleteI take my hat off to you, sir. One way or the other, you've managed to stay cool through a whole lot of baloney on either side without losing your head. It's been wildly entertaining reading this!
ReplyDeleteAww shucks, cheers c:
ReplyDeleteGuys, look how perverted we are. We have such dirty minds. I bet he wrote it that way so he could laugh at our confusion.
ReplyDeleteIf you really think it's about bj, then feel free to. Why argue with others?
ReplyDeleteI just take it as netball. It's a clean explanation~
Almigo, I beilieve you that its about Netball. I was listening to this when my Mom came into the room I quickly shut it off and she said just laughed. She said "Don't worry! Its about Netball! Its not about what your thinking..." I was like DF! NETBALL! xD
ReplyDeleteAhahahahah I just read this... Very impressive Almigo, you've managed to highlight one of the many flaws in the human population without a directed attack on any individual or group. It does make my faith in humanity waver though when I look at the sheer number of people that believed this.
ReplyDeleteI also heard that the Red Hot Chili Pepper's song Su¢k My Kiss song was about su¢king on a Hershey's White Chocolate Kiss. I read it on the internet somewhere in blog so it must be true! lulz
ReplyDeleteYes, because I trust some random website with no credentials to tell me that this song that is obviously about getting your dick sucked is about being so nice that he lets you blow his whistle to learn how to properly blow a whistle as an umpire in netball..... stfu lmao that's the dumbest shit i've ever heard
ReplyDeleteDumbest shit you've ever READ. Unless someone is actually reading it to you and you heard it then, which wouldn't suprise me..
DeleteThats retarded. why would it say twerk it then. im pretty sure its about sucking dick
ReplyDeleteWell if you're the expert..
DeleteIt also says drop it on me. I love seeing you go down. along with twerk it. Then dont stop it cause ilove how u drop it drop it.. well if twerking and going down is a part of netball, well ill be damned, but for some reason i think theres a different meaning to the song...
ReplyDeletePffth, I have to say, I honestly fell for this until I saw the comments. Bravo!!
