As a radio announcer one of the best parts of the job is getting to interview some of my favorite names in the music business. And over the last few years (the last three especially) I've had some great chats with some amazing performers. Plenty of laughs and amazing tales along the way.
And after looking at my overflowing folders on the work server (Engineering always look at me lovingly when they run a search on who seems to be hogging up the server space again..) I've decided to share some of the truly memorable bits online. Parts of great chats that would otherwise just sit in my folders somewhere waiting to be used again.
Here's some of the tastiest bits I've saved and uploaded so far:

Diesel - It's impossible to have a boring conversation with Diesel. He is a master storyteller. |

Andy Grammer
Potentially the happiest interview I've ever had, Andy walked into the studio with a smile bigger than the coffee bill from all the caffeine he'd consumed earlier that day. He loves his life, wife, daughter and making uplifting music. I asked him if he was the happy linchpin that his friends used to boost up their mood:
Francis Rossi from Status Quo
If Andy was the happiest then Francis had to be the funniest. Incredibly witty and self depreciating, he tried to convince me how young he was, what might happen if he ever retires and how at his age the biggest enemy he is very wary about every day is an evil set of stairs..
Sharleen Spiteri
I've been a massive fan of the song 'Say what you want' by Texas and I'm talking about the version featuring Method Man from the Wu Tang Clan. So when I got the opportunity to catch up with Sharleen Spiteri from Texas about the band on their way to Australia for the second time (not the first as the press release said, boy did I sound like a goose when I started with 'So we get to see you for the first time!'..) I couldn't resist asking the question about how it all kicked off..
Dan and Shay
Now normally when I asked a musical duo 'How did you meet?' they have a vague idea of the time frame involved when it all kicked off. And then there's Shay from Dan and Shay who know exactly which date they met and where. Here he talks about day one and how much their hit song Tequila has really set their world on fire.
Jon Stevans
I asked the front man of Noiseworks 'Who is someone you've performed with that would surprise people?' and he shared with us this great story of being up on stage with Billy Joel...
