What purchase of $100 or less?

So I'm flicking though Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferriss again. Like his Tools of Titans, it's one of those books in my book case that I revisit from time to time a few times during the year as it truly provides some amazing insights in the minds of people like Ben Stiller, Neil Gaiman, Stephanie McMahon and Gary Vee (of Crushing It fame).

And from this great book I decided to answer myself the question that is put to all of the contributors:

What purchase of $100 or less has most positively impacted your life in the last six months (or in recent memory?)

And just one thing springs to mind at the super low cost of just $15. Although why I hadn't thought of buying one of these for so long is beyond me..
Now don't laugh, but it's a pair of pyjama pants.

Yep, a pair of Anko (Kmart house brand) pyjama pants, black with pinstripes (hilarious) for just $15.

Like these ones but without the stomach tatts.

The last time I wore anything pyjama related? Er...let me get back to you. (Actually thinking about this for more than a heartbeat, I'd say somewhere around the age of 15-17, possibly which is quite a few moons ago now.) Because I usually sleep in just jocks and sometimes even less depending on the mood and if there's no sign of paparazzi out on the front lawn on that particular evening.

Because funnily enough even though the days on the Gold Coast are warm,  the nights are not. Far from it. The light doona I crawl under provides a little defense against it but when I'm constantly up through the night (glasses of water, drinking too much water and having to deal with it, checking on why the kids aren't sleeping, yelling at the cat for scratching at the door etc) swanning about pants less negates that warm feeling pretty damn quick.
So I could buy a thicker doona of course...or sleep in pants!

Which I did try but since all I wear is jeans, sleeping in them provides a challenge. And after an hour of trying to get into a comfy position in them, I get frustrated and take them off. Cold legs incoming, it's just a matter of time. And let me tell you it's not easy to get to a restful state when your mind is racing as your legs are freezing.

However two days in these business looking pyjama pants and the issue is pretty much gone. The night air cooling the place down is cold but my legs are not anymore. I have found myself getting up far less. I haven't moved to the couch to try and switch off there. The cat still annoys me at stupid o'clock but she also seems to enjoy smooching up against my new bed pants so there is that going for it.
I'm going to add a couple more pairs to my wardrobe soon - maybe even a sexy camo pair! (Woof!)

(Now I do have to add that while putting on these parts do engage relax mode, I am also attempting to distance myself from all technology for at least an hour before I hit the mattress which can only be for the best. Last night I drank some tea, wrote my thoughts into a book and enjoyed a peaceful house with no distractions before retiring and had a great sleep. Well until cat time of course but it was great up until that point so here's to doing that again tonight!)

So for now, my best purchase is a warm pair of bed pants. That's subject to change of course but how good are warm pyjama pants?

Okay your turn, Tim and I are keen to know - what purchase of $100 or less has rocked your world? Let me know below!

(Tribe of Mentors is a fantastic read and I highly recommend it via your local library or picking up a copy via Amazon.)

Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece... We're getting right into the real Flo, yo. After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
