Much Horsepower Part 6 - 'Oh god, what race is this now?'

It's always the way isn't it? As soon as I figure I'm right to sit on my horse owning rear end for another couple of days before I have to select an entirely new stable, along comes a message explaining that no, I need to work out exactly what I'm doing within the next 18 hours because like The Melbourne Cup, I almost forgot it's Oaks day coming up.

Actually is it Oaks Day? I have no clue. It could be the Oaks, the Lexus stakes, the day of the dead or even lasagne appreciation week for all I know. Whatever the hell it is tomorrow, I'm going to need runners and hopefully ones that don't like to congregate at the back of the pack!

OH WAIT, TURNS OUT IT IS OAKS DAY!

And in no surprise to the brains trust that makes up this stable (mainly me) not a single of my runners from last weekend are booked to do anything. Well my star jockey is but I don't think even McDonald is good enough to score enough beans to compensate for 8 other fill-able positions..

So we're going to need a new posse of ponies (or at least a few I've used before that have been successful for me so far) quick smart! So let's clear the slate and start again!

Incredibly it's taken me until now to discover the filter options in the horse list meaning finding options both racing and cheap enough (things start to get tricky when you're running out of virtual coin) are a lot quicker. Less time pfaffing about looking for horses that may show up means more time bragging about my extensive BMW collection (which is as virtual as my stable is currently..)

There's still 131 possible selections to play with but hopefully the process to fill the grid will become significantly easier. To help things along I've also assigned by Average points - yes some of these horses have only had one race in the whole game so far but with a bit of luck they'll keep that high average for me again tomorrow.

Now before you can say 'Hey, Kiki Express is back!' the field is filled! (And still with so much money left over!)

Yes hilariously the horse named after my cat that brought in a great wad of cash for me a couple of weeks back is racing again, this time at much reduced odds. While it's awesome to see a familiar face (er...horse) in the mix, I know precious little about my picked field this time outside of a) they're racing and b) they're cheap.

The cat is back!

(Also I don't think Kiki Express and Elusive Express are related either - Kiki being from here while Elusive hails from the land of the long white cloud.)

UPDATE COMING POST OAKS DAY! (I'M RACING IN OAKS DAY AREN'T I?)

And amazingly...we did okay!

While KIKI EXPRESS didn't win (and didn't win me any money outside of this game) WILLOWLY romped it in and some great work alongside DOCUEOUR (2nd) as well as ELUSIVE EXPRESS. To make things even better though?

Nobody else actually picked any horses for Oaks day! Like me forgetting Melbourne Cup, everyone else in this comp forgot about Oaks Day which makes the leader board look far better now (for me at least..)

Up next - the weekend racing is back! But while the horses are ready, the excitement is starting to wane..

The true meaning of Flo Rida's song 'Whistle'..

The whistle song? What's it about? Read on! Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece... We're getting right into the real Flo, yo. After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
