I blinked and suddenly the show was over and we were planning the next. Like yesterday, there was so much happening that three hours ate themselves up before we knew it. And in the middle, I watched the world's fastest hypnosis while Pat Benetar got fired up..
THE LAST DAY OF STROLLING IN
I pick up my new car tonight. Okay 2005 isn't exactly new but it will more than fill the car shaped hole I've had in my life since September last year, when the rego ran out on my wagon. Back then I didn't worry about it too much but now with the early starts and walking back in the arvo to fetch the kids, it's very tiring. Tomorrow Bax the Boxer (my Subaru) will get me to work and back.

Goodbye 5am bike tracks.. |
Oh and take me to the Monster Truck press conference tomorrow too.
THE MONSTERS ARE BACK IN TOWN
And years ago I got to not only sit in one but also take it for a spin, the remote control kill switch on standby in case I tried to race off with it. It was stupid levels of fun and one of the first things I wrote about (and read for the online audiobook version) in my book from 5 years back:
Now there may be a chance I'm doing it again tomorrow too - getting back into the Subi after a monster truck ride though? I'm already hoping I don't suddenly try to roll right over other cars in my little hatchback..
THE BEST WAY TO WASTE A DAY
Eliot from the Rubens joined us to talk about the current Waste A Day tour, based off the single of the same name. He's stoked to be back in the thick of the live music scene (we're stoked it's back) and we put it to him - given the chance, how would he ideally 'Waste a day?'
His idea of a day at the beach sounds perfect. Especially the part about the perfect weather, good mates and an open bar tab..
NICE TO MEET YOU MARK
Author and hypotherapist Mark Stephens dropped into the studio (with Chai's for all, thanks Mark!) to plug his new book Mind Free, a project 23 years in the market. While Pat Benetar played, he quickly hypnotised Lu to help her concentrate on her health, ensuring she drinks more water and repeating to herself that 'her health is her wealth' and the result was like me on four double shot coffee's, she was energised for the rest of the show. The fact he did this so quickly and she went under in barely any time at all was amazing and he covered a lot of ground while the song played, bringing her back with seconds to spare which was quite a sight. He was a great chat and here's to having him on again soon.
THE SLAP
We couldn't go without mentioning the Smith/Rock Oscars slap could we? And my take is they were both in the wrong - Rock said the wrong thing, Smith reacted badly to it and lost himself in the moment. A few people wondered if it was staged but either way the Oscars certainly came out a winner for the attention.
WE NEED A LAUGH
Best live comedian? We put it out there with Lu nominating the super sharp Kitty Flanigan who she saw locally a couple of years back. For me, Stephen K Amos produces a ripper show and I loved seeing him as part of the international comedy road show on the Gold Coast years ago.
Apparently from fans if the show, Ross Noble tears the house down when he performs in Albury Wodonga and I'm looking forward to the next time he's doing it.
FINALLY THE FIGHT IS ON!
Yeah not only are we covering tonight's budget but Fight For Your Flashback returns and this time its driving songs (in connection to the Monster trucks in town). I'm envisaging a win with a late 70s classic which will be revealed tomorrow on the show.
I need a victory too on account of the scores level at 1 each so far..
Wish me luck!
