I arrived early in a Subaru, came face to face with a monster truck, lost a song challenge about driving and then came back to jump into a chicken suit.
It truly is a hazardous working environment this radio thing...
THANKS FOR THE EXPLANATION
The budget came out last night, we had questions (I always have questions and usually when the state budget is involved, namely a) Do I make more money now? or b) Do I pay less money for stuff now?) and thankfully The Hon Sussan Ley Minister for the Environment and finance commentator Effie Zahos had some great answers. I'll admit I'm not the clueiest guy when it comes to government matters so it's nice to have people on board to translate it into terms I'm going to get.
GET OUT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT!
Since the Monster Trucks hit the Albury Showgrounds on Saturday, we felt it only fair to pick a couple of classic driving related songs in celebration for our 'Fight for your Flashback' this morning. And given it hasn't had much love in pretty much forever through our speakers, I truly believed it was high time to get out the brilliant 'Driver's Seat' by Sniff and The Tears.
However it was the people who made the decision and whether my choice was too unknown, too much of a one hit wonder or suffered from a lack of air time, my choice lost out to Lu's. It seems Albury Wodonga loves their Car's tracks, especially this one:
Current scores have me trailing 2-1. Never week I'll bounce back, I need to really..
WHAT DID YOU FIND IN YOUR HOUSE?
Lu woke to one of her cats trying to murder a frog this morning (which I named Sep, given he more than likely emerged from the septic tank). This of course inspired the 'What did you find in your house?' topic and the strangest thing I can recall had to be solitary speaker mounted in one corner under my house. With no wiring attached, I still to this day do not understand what they were looking to achieve there but amusing as that was, it's not as amusing as find your own deer in your bedroom as one listener shared.
Oh hi there! |
KEEP ON TRUCKING
After the show I popped down to the showgrounds to grab some photos of some of the high powered toys set to go Saturday for the Monster Truck Show. How I want one of these little clown cars to pot around in, especially when they come to a hard stop as intended..
Of course it pales in comparison in not only the sheer magnitude of an angry snarling Monster truck but also the bellowing sound, which echo'd off everything the eye could see when they took it for a brief spin. Sadly we couldn't drive it this time (health and safety reasons) but I loved the opportunity to get close to this animal!
We're working on something secret at the moment. It does involve me getting into costume, much to the amusement of everyone who follows me on social media. I'll leave you with this little taste..
Chat/update again tomorrow. Squawk!!!
