That's it, we're out of cheesecakes. Also I'm not keen on the fanatics gauntlet come election day and there's some creative people driving cars around the place currently.
FROM THREE DOWN TO TWO
We reported today that the early election process that usually goes for three weeks is now being cut back to just two. That's two weeks to find a reason why you can't vote on May 21 and put in a pre-vote instead. Apparently the people in charge feel it damages the electoral process, that extra week because obviously if you weren't convinced by their rhetoric over the next few weeks before even being able to cast an early vote, then that extra week you can't do it should certainly change your mind.
And I don't think I'm the only one not looking forward to the big day and getting bombarded by pamphlets and how to vote cards by the party faithful, looking far too happy on election day than anyone should look. They know you take the cards, walk in and throw them in the nearest bin. They know it's a colossal waste of paper and cardboard, they'll still be there though grinning like a madman anyway though just hoping their handout will show you the way.
I don't need to know how to vote for your Australian Tea for Australians, your Stop the Hovercraft's or even the Herbs for the Holy party - I've been through a few of these days, I think I've got the process pretty much worked out. Cheers.
WE NEED MORE BLOOD
Now this is a story that sadly doesn't change this time every year, the need for blood. And because there's been a strain on the local health departments for quite some time now, they need a lot of blood. Sadly due to an occasional reaction to blood tests (ie Passing out on occasion) I've been advised not to donate due to health reasons. (Or if I do, make sure I'm not doing much after the fact like going back to work or standing).
Still if you'd love to help, the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood would love to hear from you. You can make an appointment via Donate Blood.
A TRAIL OF LOSSES
I clear forgot to mention going into the latest round of Fight For Your Flashback (FFYF) yesterday for today's show. The theme was Monday and Friday songs (on account of Good Friday and Easter Monday on the horizon) and so this time around I went for:
A song I only read about this week that was actually based on a school shooting of all things. The reason behind it? The shooter didn't like Mondays. Crazy I know but still a phenomenal song with Bob Geldolf at play. Taking it on was Lu's Aussie choice of:
And the people did speak their thoughts and the people did chooseth...The Easybeats. Gah. Current scores now 3-1 in her flavor.
I'd say there's always next week but with annual leave coming up, redemption will just have to wait.
FINALLY A PLATE IS A PLATE OF COURSE OF COURSE
Personalised plates - plenty have them, plenty more have seen them. Lu spotted Goomba and talked about it on the show which led to Goomba's mum posting up on the Facebook page, revealing it was her son's nickname around the cricket pitch.
I mentioned I'd seen PUTRID on occasion, the 90's Subaru with a few stickers and scars. I'm guessing the plate is an indication of the car and not the driver? We never found out.
Plenty more plate sightings popped up and a shout out to this tidy looking Skyline owner:
Apparently BOGDOG is for sale but a lot of people are asking if they can buy the plates separately...
TOMORROW
Last show before a brief holiday! So we'll be talking Easter, a local contestant on The Voice Australia, trying to give away $1000 as usual and all the usual fun and frivolity a Thursday show that feels like a Friday should have.
Chat then!
