The Breakfast Radio Diaries 041: Frozen for the future

It was just 1 degree Celsius (that's 33.8 F for those not down under) when I swung by the roundabout near the Elders East Albury clock and weather display this morning.

I would have stopped to take a picture of it only I didn't really want to suddenly be flash frozen to the ground, an ice monument and snapshot of Autumn in Albury 2022 for countless future generations to enjoy while they whizzed by on Snowpiercer..

However things were far warmer in the studio where we drank coffee, talked movies and rocket scientists.

ABOUT THIS ROCKET MR IDIOT

Okay, no actual rocket scientists were named on account of us not knowing any but I was referring to the bloke in Wangaratta who knocked off a mountain bike outside an EB Games and then returned with said bike, to the same location nine days later, hilariously parking it right where he nicked it from. Either he had nuts the size of bowling balls to use the scene of the crime as a place to park the thing or more than likely he's just an idiot because the original owner swung by, went 'Wait a minute' and called the cops.

Can't wait to see what rockets he's planning to design next! Oh wait..

OUT OF TEN?

What was the last movie you watched and how did you rate it?

Literally, the very last thing you watched that was a movie. We got some great responses and in order of 'awesome' to 'oh god' our list went:

True Lies - '11 out of 10'

Heat - '9 out of 10'

Downton Abbey the movie - Highly Rated

Ice Age Series - 'The choice of my 3 year old grandson, I still enjoyed it.' 8 out of 10

The Batman - 'Overrated and far too long'

Not as good as the first it seems.

Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness - '10 out of 10 for the animation but 3 out of 10 for the entertainment..'

Dennis the Menace - 2 out of 10. This was inflicted on me over the weekend at the in laws down south, on account of all the kids in the room. A couple of cheap laughs, that was it.

Intersteller - 0 out of 10 'I had to watch it in full, didn't have a choice'

The Northmen - 'I walked out, it was s##thouse'

MONOPOLY - WE'RE JUST ABOUT DONE (ONE MORE DAY OF GIVEAWAYS TO GO)

As prizes go, I don't think I've ever seen one have such an effect as Border Monopoly. I mean you just whisper those two words and the phones light up like fireworks.

We've had calls, emails, texts, smoke signals, Facey messages about it, the works.

'I can't get through the phones when you ask to call!' Well that would be the competition part of the word competition, literally competing to with the rest of the Border to make it through the phone lines.
Of which we have ten.
And naturally there's a lot more than 10 people in town so..

'Why can't I buy it? I can buy INSERT TOWN NAME HERE version at this shop!' Because we couldn't call this prize exclusive if you could actually wander down to the nearest shops and purchase as many as your heart desired. They've made a very limited number of these things and after the giveaway, that's it. No more to fly out the door, finito.

On the other hand though, the winners response has been nothing short of magic. We're talking some winners that haven't played a game of Monopoly in four decades or more! And yet they're super keen on a copy of this version, so they can buy the streets of both towns.

We predict so many game nights coming up with this baby!

Now bring on Friday!

The true meaning of Flo Rida's song 'Whistle'..

The whistle song? What's it about? Read on! Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
