"Go and git your third jab son."
Okay, while the doctor who suggested it wasn't too late for my Covid booster shot didn't sound like Doc Mitchell from Fallout New Vegas (and probably didn't look too much like him either) the advice was sound. I'd been told that 8 months since my 2nd jab was too long a wait and I couldn't go for my first booster but Dr Michael Bonning from the NSW AMA confirmed today on the show that it wasn't a problem. So I booked an appointment during a song and I'm currently writing this with a small band aid on my arm where the shot went in.
Vacced again and ready to go baby!
DAY 1 OF THE FREE FLU JAB
And since we were talking about getting free flu jabs for the month across
Victoria and New South Wales, the question was raised 'Can you get them both
on the same day or is that like giving your immune system a spike pile
driver?'
Well the Dr who gave me the jab earlier this morning explained
that sure, you can do it, same arm, same day and all. It's just that people
space it out because hey, who likes to be jabbed in the arm more than once in
24 hours?
We also ran a quick poll and 90% of respondents are going to get a free flu jab this month. I will too...sometime next week.
NO LOVE FOR MICK AND CO
And speaking of polls..
Now to be honest on any other day if you asked me which song I preferred out of Rolling Stones' She's so Cold or Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc, I'd tell you that Mr Loc would romp it in. I used to love pumping that in the car nice and loud with the windows down, pretending cruising in my Beige coloured Ford Laser made me 176% cooler.
But today was not that day because in the battle of the cold songs, I'd selected Mick and crew and not only because it was released the same year I was born.
Sadly the people (because it's the people's choice) opted for the funky one (with 72% of the poll) so it got the airtime today. Which really wasn't an issue since I could pump it up loud in the studio and bop along.
MONORAIL?
I got home late yesterday on account of a few meetings, an impromptu spelling bee (I came third which is surprising because spell check gets a workout on this blog) and free pizza. Luckily I did though because I managed to catch the afternoon news update about both the Big Banana train in Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast monorail up for auction.
And while the auction has been run and won for the Banana train, which doesn't actually look like a banana per se:
Apparently we can still bid on the Gold Coast one which I have travelled on years ago. And when we say we, I mean 'The Border' because I shared the crazy idea on air this morning that Albury Wodonga should buy it and install it on both sides of the border.
Seriously, how good would that be? A full loop service from one town to the other, over the water and a stop in both East Albury (near my place) and in Wodonga (near where Lu lives) that starts at 5am and is free for media people.
Yes I have no idea of the logistics involved but neither do I care. I just come up with these not really feasible ideas, it's up to the town to run with it. No need to thank me township, it's what I do. (Although a vote for a peace prize this year for creative thinking would be appreciated.)
