The car optimistically told me it was only 4 degrees Celsius when I started it up this morning, only to see a few hundred meters later that the large clock/temp display on the Elders Real Estate building in East Albury read -1. There's no milk in the building so I'm eating my cereal like a bowl of nuts. Also these vitamins are supposed to supercharge me so I can run through walls yes?
When does this happen exactly?
DID YOU MISS THE BIT ABOUT THIS BEING FOR CHARITY?
Another day of successful fundraising for Carevan and their new van with another rare copy of Border Monopoly on its way to Rick's place for the very impressive bid of $500. Considering the first one yesterday went for $230, that was very generous bid indeed and we gave him high praise for it.
Absolutely no praise however to the former listener who complained yet again at the fact that they're not available to buy locally (which would ruin the who auction thing no?) and the fact that it got to $500 which they thought was absolutely ridiculous for a board game of things. I guess they missed the entire point of the auction and something we've hammered home every time we've mentioned this, the fact that it's for a charity and one that does so much good for the Border community. The board game is a bonus and thank you for contributing.
And I say former because according to their latest message, they're no longer going to listen to us. Well okay then, thanks for coming. Also does this mean you're not going to bid on the remaining three copies for the rest of this week? Not that with the current bidding action so far was it likely you were going to score one for $30 like you hoped today but good luck with whoever you plan to listen to next. Hopefully they're giving away stuff that's commercially available and not so much a collectors item, fetching some big dollars for charity..
LIVE FROM THE UK
Speaking of legends like Rick and his lofty bid, we got to chat to this top bloke Neil Scallan live from the UK (where it was around 11:30pm his time when he called)!
He is the Guinness world record holder for the most different editions of the classic game Monopoly and after being informed of the very limited Vitasoy, Border Edition he was keen to see if he could get in on the bidding action.
Although $500 was a little rich for his blood, we still had a great chat about
the fact that his collection sits at 3000+ and climbing and apparently there's
100 versions of the game waiting for him here down under for the next time he
can travel and take them back home.
We have let him know there's
more to round out the week, he'll be listening via the app.
Personally I think Vitasoy might be chuffed that a copy of their version might make it all the way over to the UK.
VITAMIN WHEN?
As mentioned on Friday, I'm on the supplements train to try and get this unwanted visitor in my nose to reduce its squatters rights and make me sound a little more human - I'm trying to ease up my nasal polyps with a combination of allergy tablets and high strength Vitamin D3.
The thing is, I'm still waiting for the supposed high energy take the bull by
the horns effect that consumption of said supplements were supposed to bring
me. After five days now, I haven't found any difference to me well being
whatsoever - I'm not leaping out of bed extra earlier, I'm not working out
like a mad demon with the heavy weights out back. When the cat meows at stupid
o'clock to be let out, I'm still yelling at it from the comfort of my bed, not
running marathons around the house to catch it now.
Is the lack of
effect of this gift of extra energy and life because I'm immune to such things
or am too full of the life stuff already? Or maybe's its the dregs of my
caffeine intake still running riot and barring anything else from taking
hold.
It's a question for the ages really.
For the
record, pollyps seem the same size. Maybe it is too early to call?
