It wasn't just any victory last week, it was a crushing victory. And so much so that I'm really tempted to leave my team of destroyers just the way they are and hope for the same winning riot to break out again this round.
Lighting can strike twice on the football field yes?
Yes?
Anyone?
IT PROBABLY PAYS TO CHECK IF EVERYONE IS STILL STANDING AFTER THE LAST ROUND THOUGH..
Sigh, okay. While I never liked homework as a kid (and still don't as an adult) if we want to win again then we need to field a strong a team as we can and that means making sure than non of our players have come down with myxomatosis or worse, covid. So a roll call it is:
HURN - Ready to rumble
YOUNG - Named on the interchange but hey, he's been named and that's a good thing.
BYRNE-JONES - Ready to Byrne. Ha ha yes I know, I'm hilarious.
OLD MCDONALD - Eee eye, eee eye, eee eye good to go.
THE LUGGAGE - There's a few missing on the team this week but thankfully the Luggage has not been forgotten.
PENDERS - Picked again, good ole reliable Penders
OOH AHH MCGRATH - Yep, he's in too.
ELLIS - Ellis has entered the building
DREW - He Drew a lucky number and he's in!
MARSHALL BATTERY - Holler for a Marshall, he's ready to go.
THE BONT - It truly isn't a Flavorless Flav's party without the Bont in action and thankfully our beloved captain is ready to emerge from the rooms, crown in place and proceed to burn the house down once more.
CURNOW - All clear
CAMERON - He's here too.
ALBATROSS (FRANKLIN) - He is here but after his performance last week and lack of fire over the last few weeks, if there's someone on my bench who could take his spot it's something I may just consider..
Incredibly, Dusty has not been named/selected. So he's staying on the bench once more. However Martin is playing and since his average is a few points higher than Frankie right now..
So one change for the team this week, it's Friday night and we're a few hours away from the first clash of the round. Stringer Box, I do wish you the best of luck but brace yourself as I UNLEASH HELL. AGAIN.
HOPEFULLY!
THE RESULTS...
Again, the Bont ran riot. Curnow and The Luggage was impressive and a great performance for Ellis. What a shame I had Newcombe (124) and Richards (126) bench side though - even though there was nothing that said 'These guys will make all the difference..' because they obviously would have.
