It's been over a year since my triple mower bargain that was Mower Mania 2021. And after all this time, are they still slicing, dicing and making short work of my lawn? Let's find out!*

'DANGERFIELD' - FORMERLY GARDENERS CHOICE LAWN MOWER GC002
For quite some time Dangerfield (only recently renamed due to a failure come game/grass time) was my go to. Yes it was noisy, yes it was unwieldy but as long as it had fuel to drink and grass to burn, it was happy. Well until the last time when the lead bit to the spark plug went kaput and I have to cannibalise another one in the collection to get things up and running again.
And that worked...but that's when I noticed that Dangerfield was now roaring at stupidly loud levels. Sound levels that just drowned out anything and everything, including the music pumping loud in my headphones. So I swapped over the exhaust...and that didn't fix things. Maybe it needs an oil change I wondered? I mean it's probably been a very long time since it got a dose of the new stuff..

Yep! Time for an update! |
And so it got some fresh stuff.
And it's still too loud. Painfully so. I really can't keep using this one and have it heard three neighbourhoods away.
Which meant it was no high time to see if the other two could be coaxed back into life. Somehow..
'SILENT MONK' - FORMERLY GARDENER'S CHOICE LAWN MOWER GC001
-Has been sitting in the rotunda of pain for a long time gathering spiders.
-Was a donor for Dangerfield because it looked to have the freshest parts.
-When Dangerfield proved to still be too DangerLOUD, I put this one back together not realising that across the year it had taken a vow of silence.
-A fresh transfusion of oil and petrol hasn't convinced it otherwise to start and operate at somewhere near its supposed 75db. So it got cannibalised (again) to rebuild..
CHOP SUEY - FORMERLY SANLI LAZER CUT LAWN MOWER
-Ended up as a canvas for my airbrush which explains the Ferrari red exhaust cover in model paint enamel and the air filter in a cool shade of acrylic blue. Undoubtedly when I eventually part with it there'll be no confusion which side is hot and which side is cold for the next owner. I had big plans of airbrushed skulls and possibly a Wu Tang logo but they never eventuated.
-Smaller than the other two in cutting width and annoyingly the handles to push it. So I swapped out the handle from one of the Garden Choices so I don't have to bend over like Quasimodo when sending it around the jungle that is my backyard.
-Pulling mechanism lost it's metal tabs which means nothing was grabbing on to spin the flywheel when pulled. That got binned and I pinched another one off GC001. That's the beauty of these cheapies, a lot of the parts are interchangeable.
-In fact I think most of GC001 ended up on this one after trying to get that one started failed. That includes the ignition module magneto thing, the plug and the carby bowl.
-Still not starting though. Fuel is good but might have to check the magneto setup to make sure the spinning magnet is close enough. Oh and maybe a new spark plug? The one in this is pretty crusty..
(Also I don't think it's the factory suggested one either because the online manual suggests something else entirely. But it was in there when it was last working so we're going to stick with that..)

Annnnnnd....no love there either. It still doesn't want to kick over either.
