Now blogging over at Onemanmanyplans.com.au

It's been real, thanks Blogger! Hey thanks for checking out this page! After 10 years of posting here and over 600 posts, it's time to try something new at over possibly greener pastures. Which means you can now find me and all my random adventuring ways over at One Man Many Plans .

The Breakfast Radio Diaries 087 - Geography fail

Today's workout involved dumbbell presses and barbell step ups. Today's post workout feed (and lunch) was a truly delicious home made chicken pesto pasta. I'm at 47% with my editing and I learnt today to read everything before you decide to relay it on air..

THEY'RE GOING WHERE?

Because for a good part of today's show, I thought Prince William and Kate were moving to Adelaide, Australia and I was quite impressed that they'd consider somewhere here in this beautiful country as their new home. But no, turns out that's not the case as they're actually moving to...Adelaide Cottage.  Which isn't even remotely close to Adelaide, capital city of South Australia. Not even if you squint. Thankfully I read another article that pointed out how wrong I was before I actually spoke about it - although that would be quite amusing.

And to think I used to be good at Geography in the early days of high school..

THE BIG RETURN

After a month off to trek across Italy, Lu returns to the show tomorrow and I for one will be thrilled. Not that I'm incapable of doing a show by myself, I have done many and undoubtedly will do plenty more before I hang up the headphones for good, it's more the point I think it sounds better when you're talking to someone. Jokes work better when there's a reaction and it's a lot easier to come up with a funny line when someone else is talking, giving you time to think about it. Not to mention the time goes quicker, the time when songs are on isn't so boring and the three hours seems to flow better with conversation.

I do take my hat off to solo breakfast announcers who know what they're doing though, it is definitely an art form. But give me a co-host or team any day.

RETURN OF THE PESTO

You know those random thoughts that pop up when you're doing something else, like driving? A few weeks ago I had one of those and it involved pesto pasta. More to the fact that I couldn't remember the last time I had any. Why oh why has it been so long between the besto pesto? So the next time we were at a restaurant and I saw it on the menu, I jumped at the chance to try it again.
The restaurant version was....pretty plain actually. Far more cream than pesto in there so that massive whack of flavour I was counting on simply failed to arrive and instead I enjoyed...ah...creamy green pasta sauce? Points for trying I suppose.

Thankfully today that longing was rectified as I whipped up some chicken thigh fillet, diced bacon, pasta and a huge dollop of pesto sauce from the local supermarket. And boy was it good!

Yes, no creamy green sauce, no lack of pesto punch here. A big bowl of lovely pesto pasta after I destroyed my energy levels outside, creating the need for feed.

MORE TIME FOR IRON (THRONE?)

Starting the day early, a lot of people ask me if I sleep or maybe nap in the afternoon. And while the temptation was certainly there when I started doing breakfast radio again (and pops up towards the end of very big weeks) I usually find plenty to keep myself amused with across the afternoon so I don't become one with the couch. There's the blogging (obviously), the writing side of things and happily I've had more time for fitness. I don't work out as hard as I used to because I'd be drained of energy for days and hey, I need my energy, but I lift weights and throw kettle bells out the back of the house a lot more.

Barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, a bench press and some steps to work with in the backyard - what else do you need really?

(Although now that Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon has started, I feel that might also take up some of my free afternoon time..)

Matt Smith - I'm quite impressed by your evil ways already.

Happy Tuesday kids!
