Lu's still sick, I'm trying not to drown the place in groans thanks to some really bad dad jokes and one in twenty Australians love a good dragon..
MORE OF THIS PLEASE
After the very first episode of Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon, HBO announced they were preparing for the second series. After just one episode. If that doesn't say 'Well this show is back with a blood thirsty vengeance isn't it?' then I just don't know what would. And I heard in the news today during the show that one in twenty Australians have now watched the last incarnation of it which means that one in twenty have now seen what a utter bastard former Dr Who actor Matt Smith is playing on the show.
And while he's not my favourite Dr Who actor (that was revealed way back in March this year) I think he's terrific here as the equally smarmy and terrifying Prince Daemon. After the second episode, I'm kind of looking forward to his hopeful clash with the bloke with the crabs. (And I don't mean someone who's spent too much time in the houses of pleasure in the series). It's been riveting so far and I'm itching to get more into it.
Interestingly though we're only a few days away from seeing the effort served up in the Tolken world, The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power and while I'm a GOT nut, I am keen to see what they're planning to bring to the table in what I hear will be the most expensive TV series yet. Considering the vast amount of money to produce each ep of Game of Thrones, it should be something spectacular (we hope!)
(Although I'm still working my way through Mystery Road on ABC Iview and there's quite a few eps of Orville Season 3 I haven't seen yet, so...
TODAY'S WINNING DAD JOKE
'In the Where's Wally books, why does Wally wear stripes?

Because he doesn't want to be spotted...'
Thanks Rod..we think.
THE CALM BEFORE THE PETROL STORM
Maybe it's a bit of light before the petrol excise comes back next month, but I'm very much enjoying (and I don't think I'm the only one here) the lowish petrol prices at the moment. I filled up over the weekend at $1.70 AUD and while it's been much lower than that in the past, it sure beats paying $2.30 like I did in Melbourne a few months ago. The 30 bucks I put into the Slowbaru seems to have lasted a lot longer than usual so far and all going well (and no random trips to anywhere) and it may even stretch to next pay day - which is a bit of a rarity in this house!
Maybe I should learn to fly a dragon to work instead?
TOMORROW
Is Lu back?
Will Fight for your Flashback return?
Will I fall
off my chair at even more Dad jokes?
Stay tuned!
