I had the house to myself, I'm wrestling with Tik Tok and bring on Sunday when we celebrate the dads.
DO YOU TIK TOK?
Every time I put something up on Tik Tok, it's met with mixed results. On the one hand anything I do upload is viewed far more times than the same material on YouTube or Instagram but on the other there's very little if any conversion. But then I'll read a post by another writer who has had fantastic results with basic effort and again I find myself back there, creative tool set in hand. Because if that's where the book reading audience is currently hanging out, then that's where I need to be!
Maybe my day is still to come? Maybe my vids need to be shorter, punchier and use less White Zombie? Maybe I need to be seen dancing more? Either way, if you've got the Tok, come join me. I'm only just warming up.

LAST ONE IN THE HOUSE
I was the only one in the house last night which when you have a family of four, is a pretty rare occurrence. My wife and son were in Melbourne for a medical appointment and my daughter was staying with friends because a breakfast radio shift and attempting to get her to school on time are two things that just don't mix.
And so come 8pm when Sophie had been picked up and it was just the cat and I left to our own devices, what did I do? Pretty much what I usually do actually. Made a cup of tea and became one with the couch while getting through another episode of the seemingly more serious season of The Orville (Season 3). Yeah no solo rock star parties or neighbourhood wrestling parties on the back lawn. No 13 and a half minute guitar solos in the lounge (I'm between guitars at the moment) - I didn't save the world, nor did I renovate the house in such a fashion that Scott Cam from the Block came around and gave me a standing ovation.

He loves what I've done with the place. |
But what was different was the next morning where I could turn on all the lights in the house looking for a pair of fresh socks and not bump around in the dark like a blind worm. I could make as much noise as I wanted to in the shower because the cat didn't care. I didn't bump into anything, knock anything over or lose my wallet/glasses/asthma inhaller/mind at any stage. Such luxuries! That's a pretty good start to any Friday shift really.
And it got me thinking on how if someone said they'd call you at a given time, you'd have to be in the vicinity of the fixed line phone to take the call. Hoping too that no one else was using the phone at the time nor was the dial up internet tying things up. Good time!
