'Okay, that sounds confusing. Can you take out the big words to make it easier to understand?'
I DIDN'T THINK I'D BE SINGING THE PRAISES OF TIK TOK
And yet once again here we are. Okay, technically I'm not at the singing stage just yet (when my Toks become a virus...I mean viral and take off, then I'll attempt to sing) but colour me impressed by the views you can score in a short time - especially when you try the same thing on Instagram only to watch it spectacularly go nowhere fast.
I mean today's effort took all of 20 seconds in the car park behind work and then another minute uming and erring over my choice of backing track while in the studio. In roughly 8 hours since I put this up on Tik Tok (at the time of writing), I've garnered 218 views.
@alshieldwrites My car must be in this #carpark somewhere.. #Hyundai #fastback #subaru #impreza #blobeye #slowbaru #scooby ♬ Welcome To The Terrordome - Public Enemy
And while that's barely anything for seasoned Tokkers, it's quite impressive
by my standards especially when another Tok I shared to Instagram Reels got
all of 10 views in roughly the same time.
Don't get me started on
the low numbers on my Youtube again..
So it looks like I'll be page flipping and trying other stuff over on the dark side, the Tok side for a little longer it seems.
DUMB IT DOWN
I find the best speakers are the ones who can clearly and concisely explain
something in language that everyone can follow. Once again finance expert
Effie Zahos did this on the show, explaining the latest interest rate rise and
how the former fear of missing out seems to have become the fear of the
market.
I told the border that this level of understandable
simplicity should extend to every other field I may find myself in
conversation with. Maybe the next time at the mechanics for example:
'Head gasket bad. You fix or car go boom!'
Or maybe at the Doctors:
'You keep doing that, arm fall off. So you stop doing that.'
It gets to the point, it saves time, sure you may sound like a simpleton but there's very little confusion when you put it into terms like that.
THE BATTLE OF THE BLUE SKIES
On paper, I thought Lu's choice of song would be stronger than mine. On the
other hand, I'd seen my choice performed live and it turned out to be one of
the greatest concert experiences I'd ever witnessed, so there was that.
But
when it came to ELO's Mr Blue Sky taking on the sheer might of U2's Bullet the
Blue Sky in our fight for your flashback challenge this morning, well slightly
more people preferred the Bono getting lyrical than a tune that a baby tree
once danced too. I mean how good is this:
It also means it's brought the scores back to an even keel as we find ourselves on 9 wins apiece and I do like a close competition!
TOMORROW
We talk movies, give away more tickets to our Rock Lounge (Special VIP area for an upcoming Jimmy Barnes concert) and I'll try not to fall asleep at the desk (it's been a pretty long week so far..)
Chat then!
