Cyberpunk in the trunk (aka Sci Fi in July!) Q and A time!

Another month, another great book/kindleunlimited promo you can sink your teeth into. On top of that you may just meet your next favourite author with our latest author Q and A sesh!

Yep, after the success of the last one (A whole bunch of books that go bang!) here comes a few more tasty sci-fi/cyberpunk/oh god the world truly is a screwed up place isn't it? type of reads. All action packed, all ready to go through Amazon and Kindleunlimited.

My kind of jam! Take me there cyberbaby!

And once you've checked out the books and box sets there, come back and meet the crew involved!

LET'S MEET WALDO RODRIGUEZ!

1. When I'm not writing, I am?

Either working out, going to the day job at the warehouse, or playing video games. Right now that's mainly Star Citizen and Cyberpunk 2077.

2. Tell us a little about the books we get to read in this promo?

So the books I put on the promo are Reclaimer: The Crucible and Dark Sector.  They're the first two books in the Legacy of a Dying World series.

The first book, The Crucible, follows Gabriel as he goes from a pudgy civilian who was supposed to have died during an evacuation of his home city to a hero as he goes through a survival of the fittest style training program with a high fatality rate. It's an action packed zero to hero story with fun characters, deadly traps, and some pretty heavy moments showing just how deadly serious his situation is.

Dark Sector picks up right where The Crucible left off. I won't give any specifics about where that is but I will say it expands upon the world a great deal more and shows there is a lot more to some of the freaky things going on around Gabriel. There is a lot more to this world than it seems.

The third book in the series is already up for preorder as I'm in the middle of editing it right now!

3. The best place for book inspiration is?

My best place for inspiration is one of two places.

When I'm in the middle of a heavy work out, a long one especially, is one of my favorites. I get a pretty hefty clarity and get ideas coming to mind that I just gotta write down. Good thing my phone has a notepad for that.

The other is at work. Like I mentioned before, I work at a warehouse and that is just an endless sea of gray and noise my brain just wants to escape from. So of course, it picks those times to come up with some of my best book ideas. The trick is making it to break with those ideas intact so I can write them down. Management is not fond of us using our phones on the floor, even when everything grinds to a halt.

4. Do you have your own website?

5. What are you working on next?

Working on getting book 3 out the door right now. Book 4 I have fully outlined and ready to go but one thing at a time.

6. Best thing you've watched in the last 12 months?

My friends made me watch Shield Hero with them a few weeks back and I loved it. Haven't really had time or made time to watch anime in forever as I tend to prefer doing things rather than watching. But it was a great show and I'm pretty excited to hear they have a second season coming out. Fingers crossed they don't mess it up.

LET'S MEET SAM FIRES!

Sam's Q and A coming soon.

LET'S MEET AL SHIELD! (Oh wait, that's me!)

Currently obeying all Covid related rules

1. When I'm not writing, I am?

Holy hell, lots of things. Radio announcer by trade, blogger as you know, trying to work out twitter, lifting various heavy things in the back yard, getting annoyed by the family cat, raising a family, figuring out this writing game and spending a touch too much time getting distracted by PC based role playing games. Once I make my saving throw though and cross that bridge of doom, I'll be fine!

2. Tell us a little about the books we get to read in this promo?

Well Hack Frost has been out for a year now - part one of an action packed three parter about a runaway military experiment that wants to lead a simple life, drinking beers and tooling away on cars. Of course he can't because random events gravitate towards him like an overpowered magnet and he's constantly thrust into one bad situation to the next.

High Damage Deals is roughly a week old (at the time of writing) and is about a pair that sell weapons out the back of their van who get dragged into a seemingly great deal that turns into the ultimate nightmare pretty quick. It's full of guns, fights and sinister bad guys ready to do their worst.

3. The best place for book inspiration is?

Strangely, it's away from my keyboard. Walking to work, listening to an audiobook, giving the car an oil change, standing stupidly in the shower - that's when I do my creative thinking. And then I sit down to mash fist to keyboard quite a few times before a finished book appears.

4. Do you have your own website?

Yep, you're on it right now. Hopefully you're enjoying your stay. Don't tip the waitress though, this place doesn't have one.

5. What are you working on next?

The tentatively titled Division Zero, a search team made up of long serving prisoners who have to work out what happened to a missing ship that's suddenly appeared after 200 years..

6. Best thing you've watched in the last 12 months?

Richmond winning the AFL Grand Final last year (as it won't be repeated this year..)
Wandavision
Loki is highly enjoyable
As much as it got panned and ultimately killed by Netflix, I found The Irregulars pretty good.
Oak Island was....well the same as it ever was really.

The true meaning of Flo Rida's song 'Whistle'..

The whistle song? What's it about? Read on! Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece... We're getting right into the real Flo, yo. After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
