It's been real, thanks Blogger! Hey thanks for checking out this page! After 10 years of posting here and over 600 posts, it's time to try something new at over possibly greener pastures. Which means you can now find me and all my random adventuring ways over at One Man Many Plans .

Bash for the Border - Round 1 - Money left on the table

Footy is back, the team is ready and the good news is - we're injury free!

Well for now anyway...

Yes going into round 1 and the only warning popping up before game one (Demons v Bulldogs) is that Dunstan has been selected as an emergency. Which means he might not even make the field. So let's swap him out for..

DUNSTAN OUT (Bench)

PRESTIA IN (MID)

(Prestia was original represented by wrestling legend Razor Ramon aka Scott Hall but out of respect for his recent passing, he's now being represented for this fantasy football game by Rogal Dorn.)

Can't go too wrong with this lineup can we?

Can we?

(Is there an echo in here?)

ROUND ONE - THE ROUND UP

Firstly no shout outs whatsoever to my challenger this week in Brandon aka Brand Power who learnt that Lever was a late no show...and didn't feel the need to tell me (actually why would you?). So I still had him on the field come game time and as a consequence, scored zero there.

Excuse me, where did you go?

Allir Allir also had a big of a rough night and on top of that looks to be off for ankle surgery (there were a few bumps and bruises for many teams across the round.)

And foolishly I tried using the optimise button to bring to the table the best team possible based on predictions and the app/system/servitor somehow put Dangerfield on the bench. Boy oh boy was that a costly mistake as he had a monster of a round with 151 points for the pine.

Useless for me but at least I know who to put in for round two.

FINAL RESULT - LOSS

Brand Power wins this round by 91 points leaving me in 7th position on the ladder (out of 8)

And since we're getting into a Warhammer 40k theme this year, I think it's only fair that my stats servo skull Alpha-Delta-007 to sort the best from the worst, the wheat from the chaff and the premium beer from the yeast N stuff. Over to you AD!

COMPUTING...

Best on ground: Hawkins 148 points

Worst on ground: Lever (0) or Dangerfield 155 (and not played)

Top 3: Hawkins 1st, Ziebell and McGovern equal 2nd

Bottom 3: Franklin, Prestia, Allir

Suggestions: Swap Pittonet for Naitinaui (highest Ruc), trade out Allir due to injury, swap Prestia for Dangerfield, put Lever on bench TFN, stop relying on the optimise button because it's machine spirit is lacking.

REPORT OVER

Short and sweet, thanks Alpha D. Our team with most of those changes now looks like:

(Still waiting for the trade markets to open up for Allir) And since we're taking on the form of the Tysonic Hedgehogs this week, we're going to need as much skill front and centre as we can squeeze into this team.

Up next - Buddy is getting set to kick his 1000th goal in Round 2 which turns out to be a massive moment on ground. But even with this magical moment, will this help me beat Tysonic Hedgehogs?
