The breakfast radio diaries 015: You've got to pump it up

The title of today's effort doesn't refer to the show, more to the passenger side front wheel of my beloved Subaru Bax who over the weekend lost most of it's enthusiasm to hold air. So I was extra careful driving in this morning and working out where to take him once the show was done..

IT TURNS OUT IT WAS A SCREW

A shout out to Jax Albury who had things patched up and back on the road a mere ten minutes after strolling back to work. Considering it only took me 15 minutes to walk back, that's bloody fast service. Between that and the new knock sensor I installed into the thing this arvo, we should have trouble free motoring for quite some time now. I hope!

ON WITH THE SHOW

We gave away a cheesecake today from the Cheesecake shop because a) Morning tea rocks and b) so much more so when someone else provides it. Which means we're going to be your home of cheesecake all this week and I'm certainly not complaining.

Now to somehow make this place, station and breakfast show the home of the steak sandwich..

TELL US: WHAT DID YOU DO?

It was a busy weekend here in casa Almigo involving a bit of airbrush work (painting up a printed phone holder for the Subaru) working on said Subaru (air pockets), checking out Bad Guys the movie with the family (the kids loved it) and while the kids bounced at Bounce Wodonga, wifey and I tried Henri's bakery and got stuck into a Blueberry bee sting. Glorious.

For Lu it was all about the Leneva fire station and it's 75th anniversary involving a dinner and open day. Apparently the smokehouse for the kids went off (I wonder if that's because we joked about it?). A great turn out and fantastic to hear of so many getting involved with their local fire station.

When we asked out what the Border got up to we ended up with everything from drinking coffee, to playing Hockey, to watching footy and things slide at the monster trucks. Good times had by all!

INTRODUCING THE TEXT LINE

Yeah we have our own text line now straight to the studio and even better, we can reply to it via the PC. Perfect for yes/no questions or traffic incidences across the morning, I tried to win a cheesecake (to test the text line of course!) and received 'None for you Piggy!'.

So that's a goer then!

HERE BE DRAGONS

Finally a shout out to Steve Molky Molk, the gun behind TvBlackbox.com.au for our weekly TV show chat. He got me onto Moon Knight on Disney Plus (loved the first episode, can't wait for the next) and now I'm keen for House of the Dragon, the 200 year prequel to Game of Thrones.

What I didn't realise until now is that playing the role of Daemon Targaryean is none other than former Doctor Who: Matt Smith!

(Replace the suit with some armour and the sonic screwdriver there with a sword, and that's Daemon good to go!)

Hopefully there's enough Moon Knight (now that season 3 of Snowpiercer has wrapped up) to get me there!

Til next time,

-Almigo

The true meaning of Flo Rida's song 'Whistle'..

The whistle song? What's it about? Read on! Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece... We're getting right into the real Flo, yo. After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
