Bash for the Border - Round 17 - No Dust no trust

I ended the last post about the hapless Flavorless Flav's with this: Anyone else want to throw some bad news my way? :/

Well fate who happens to be a big fan of this blog read that and promptly lined up to kick me right in the knackers. Because once again I've got a week where Dusty won't be available..

REMEMBER WHEN

The early stages of this crazy game when he took personal leave and I kept a spot open for his big return? Unfortunately this season hasn't been that great for the Dust We Trust and at the time of writing, he's got an average of 87.3. Which in the scheme of things is pretty good, until you move the cameras around the locker room and focus on some of the superstars (well the closest to superstars a team like mine can field.)

Players such as:

The Bont 113 AVG

The Luggage 104.3

Hurn 98.8

Penders 94.5

Young 90.5

McGrath 89.5

McDonald 89.2

Marshall 88.3

McGovern 87.8

The Dust 87.3

He just makes it into the top 10, barely. And if this hamstring injury lasts longer than a week and there's a higher Average ready to take his spot, well a difficult decision must be made..

Luckily Cameron who missed out last week can fill in this week and hopefully we'll have some better luck. Hopefully we'll have some luck. Hopefully, luck will show up for at least five minutes of the game. Hopefully I don't get my ass handed to me again like last week..

OH GOD, WE MEET AGAIN

The last time I clashed with team Guy MySuprise was back in Round 3 and that battle scored me one of my only victories this year.

However this week I'm far less confident in another win over Guy on account that last week he had the second highest score of all the coaches, while I languished somewhere near the bottom.

How this mighty change in form you ask? Well it seems Coach Tyson has offered him some advice or more likely a team overhaul using the best of the left on the free agents list and it obviously worked.

I'd try the same but I think there really isn't anyone left worth swapping out for..

First game of the round tomorrow, update coming soon!

THURSDAY NIGHT

It's after dinner and I should be becoming one with the couch, getting into as much F1: Drive to Survive catch up as I can before it's bedtime.

But noooo, I'm perusing the team lists to see who is a late out because...well reasons. If I'm going down fighting, it'll be with a full line up. Which at the moment looks like:

And after seeing who's still standing, the team line up is now....exactly the same. Unless something horrible happens, we're looking pretty good (amazingly!)

Now it's up to the footy gods...

THE WEEKEND THAT WAS!

Well I'm proud to say that I had one of the best rounds all season with a solid 1422 points which is well above and beyond what I usually score. The Bont had a great game, Penders was at his dependable best and Curnow had an absolute corker with 142 right when I needed them.
The worst was Cameron at 65 and that's not bad at all considering some of the low numbers in previous rounds.

So I won yeah?

Unfortunately while I had one of the best rounds so did Guy. And like Richmond taking on Gold Coast over the weekend, I was ahead at one stage...and then things turned around completely. To the point that I couldn't catch him if I tried.

Final score: 1442 vs 1661

I didn't put a foot wrong...he just put a lot more feet right. Gah. Onto next week then...

The true meaning of Flo Rida's song 'Whistle'..

The whistle song? What's it about? Read on! Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece... We're getting right into the real Flo, yo. After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
