The Breakfast Radio Diaries 081 - Guess who's back, back again

No it's not Shady, so no need to tell a friend. But after three weeks of downtime, I'm back on the airwaves and amazingly still remember what I'm doing (and which buttons do which), which helps a lot when you're manning the show by yourself.

DURING THE DOWNTIME

-I wrote. A lot. So much so in fact that I actually finished the first draft of my latest book effort entitled Last Thief Standing. Now just to edit up all 80k+ words into some kind of action packed page burner and off we go. (Note: Like all authors, I hate editing, gah what a chore. Also I will update you as soon as it's ready to rock and roll!)

-I bought another mower. Yep, I now have four. Three that sit there in a state of dismantlement and one that starts first time every time and only stops when it either runs out of juice or I run out of lawn. You do not want to know how much time I sunk into playing around with the other three just to get one of the useless things started to no avail. But hey, the lawn doesn't look luck Guns and Roses could sing a song about it (note: Not Paradise City) and this will help come rental inspection time soon.
(A big shout out to Lu who told me there was a bloke in Wodonga that refurbishes mowers and BJ Mowers who was that bloke, mower works like a charm!)

Victa Sabre reporting in sir!

-I painted up some Warhammer stuff. The last time I painted up an official Games Workshop Warhammer Fantasy model? I'm thinking circa age 15 when they realised that High Elf and Gobbo starter set, so that's about 19 to 20 years ago. I'm still not the greatest miniature painter by any stretch of the imagination but it sure is therapeutic.
Will I actually play it one day? Let me finish painting the pieces first.

-I finally got into Cyberpunk 2077. Mother of the cyber gods is this a horribly addictive game! Having grown up with Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyber Generation (which got a little weird I'll be honest) this game is right in my ballpark and as good (and action packed!) as the missions are, half the fun is roaming Night City looking for trouble. Oooh look, a cyber psycho! Time to reach for my shotgun! Oh look, cops in a fire fight with another gang, maybe I could help? Time to reach for my shotgun! Oh look, something happening over there...better reach for...oh here it is, my shotgun!
Now that it's all patched and working, it's brilliant! (Although I need to set myself rules about getting stuff done before playing it again otherwise there goes a whole heap of hours in a flash..)

-I also started a blog about being one of the worst coaches in the world when it comes to virtual sports, rewatched some classic Dr Who of the Christopher Eccleston era and continued to build the world's most problematic F1 Car. It's been an action packed 3 weeks for sure!

PRESS THIS, PLAY THAT, HANG ON, GOOD LUCK

In need of both sleep and a shave in that order

It's been three weeks without an early morning alarm so I just knew it'd be a rough start, full of waking moments and quick checks to make sure I hadn't slept in.
And guess what? I didn't!

I also managed to do the show without a hitch which is quite impressive given the lack of sleep or a co-host to bounce off (Lu's still in Italy and returns to the show come mid next week.)
A big shout out to Steve Molk from TVblackbox who suggested I really am missing out on things by passing on Gogglebox. I really don't think I am - after enjoying Sandman, getting confused easily but still enjoying Westworld and hanging out the GOT prequel, a show about watching people watching shows really doesn't seem that appealing to me.

Now that I know the alarms work just fine, I should sleep much better tonight!

Wish me luck!

-Almigo

The true meaning of Flo Rida's song 'Whistle'..

The whistle song? What's it about? Read on! Controversial I know but I'm about to reveal the true meaning behind the Whistle song by Flo Rida. Why? Because I'm getting the general feeling that people around me are really missing the true spirit of Mr Rida's epic masterpiece... We're getting right into the real Flo, yo. After all this time, it's still all about that wisal baby song!

Mortal Engines for the Emperor!

Now maybe it's just me and maybe I've read far too much into the Warhammer 40K lore and universe...but I'm seeing a lot of parallels between it and the now available on Netflix movie Mortal Engines..

Please don't ignore this massage

It's been a while between scam emails - life has been life, work has been hectic, I've been grunting and sweating my way through my exercise sessions and so I've been putting responding to random idiots through my email on the back burner.  Until today when I was kindly asked not to 'ignore this massage.' I hope it's a hot stone one! Trust me, I NEVER ignore a massage. Better set the record straight then...
