200 Games you must play (part 5 of 5) The missing list

Well we got there in the end - trawling through 200 games that 3 years ago Hyper Magazine reckoned we should have played or at least tried. And while there were some obvious choices in there (Skyrim, Witcher, Gran Turismo 2) there were also a few noticeable absences from that mighty list. Maybe Hyper just missed them? Maybe the staff behind the list didn't share my love of what didn't make the cut? Whatever the reason, here's a few more must plays I'm adding to my own list. So without any further ado, have you tried the following...?

Buried treasure on my pc AND the backyard!

Isn't it amazing what you find when you're not looking for it? Case in point tonight finds me sweeping the vast hard drives of my home PC to find a program to deal with ISO files. But instead I managed to stumble over some zipped up photos from 8 years ago when I was convinced I was going to strike it rich in my own overgrown backyard...

200 Games you must play (part 4 of 5)

Oh god, it's the run home. The last 50 of Hyper Magazine's extensive 200 Games You Must Play list. At the start of this I figured I'd be lucky enough to have worked my way through even a quarter of what was on offer and with 75% of the list chewed through so far, all I need is 5 more in the 'yes I've actually played that' column to cross that milestone. Surely there'll be at least 5 in here I've hit the start button on? Will the Saint's get a look in here? Please?

200 Games you must play (part 3 of 5)

100 down, just 100 left in Hyper's interesting list of must play video games. We've had text adventures as well as hits from systems I've never even crossed paths with but surely in this next 50 there'll be more than a handful that I've actually put finger to action button? Will Wu Tang Taste The Pain make the grade? Let's find out! Surely?

200 Games you must play (part 2 of 5)

In the first 50 on Hyper Magazine's 2018 list 'The 200 games you must play' I found out I hadn't played many of them at all. As we work out way through the next 50, I suspect that low number I've clicked into will become a reoccurring theme.. Hopefully this isn't on the list

200 games you must play (Part 1 of 5)

Early 2018 and according to Aussie gaming magazine Hyper, there are apparently 200 games I must play.  No exceptions.  I mean that's what the front cover screamed at me when I walked past the stand in the library earlier today. It doesn't look like it's giving me much of a choice here. But as much as I enjoy the occasional game of Super Monaco GP and Commander Keen, I have a sneaky suspicion that at best that without reading the full list, I've probably played a quarter. Possibly less - undoubtedly the list of games I have played will be far shorter than the have not.  But there's only one way to find out..

Coffee and analytics - everything old is Googled again

It's almost a daily occurrence for this tiny blog island in the great ocean known as the interwebs, grab a big brew and sip away while trawling Google Analytics in the aim of streamlining this site. Wading in my my giant ladle, it's amazing what gets scooped out in the big bowl of search results.  Coffee and a mask - I am prepared for anything! Turns out there's a lot of things that people are still searching for today after all these years..

Welcome to Towns, try not to get killed by a Yeti

I've just discovered that the PC Game Towns is still installed on my computer from yonks ago . Let's fire it up and find out if my villagers are just as stupid today as I remember them being years ago when I first played it!

One screen, hold the flicker

I have to admit, my last BenQ screen did quite well for itself since I picked it up for a song over three years ago. Surviving 4 and a bit books, Witcher 3 and countless games of Civ 6, it also worked hard putting YouTube videos together and crafting up the occasional book cover too via Photoshop. But now it's glitching and flooding itself with a cascade of colors - basically unusable and as loathe as I am to admit it, it's time for a newer one. Somehow though, I don't think I'll be lucky enough to find a red hot bargain like it..
