Welcome to The 600 club
Quiet celebrations are in order today having just realised that after yesterday's post, we're now over 600 posts and counting so far here at Adventures of Almigo and there's no signs whatsoever of slowing down or stopping anytime soon..
Even the harshest critics are impressed! |
SOME (QUICKLY) WORKED OUT FACTS ABOUT THIS BLOG TO AMAZE GUESTS AT YOUR NEXT FANCY SHINDIG
'And then he said that somehow people were reading this on an ipod!' |
-My very first post on the blog was way way back in May 2012, making 2022 the 10th anniversary of all this speculation, song reveals, book chat and various ramblings. That also means that I'm averaging 60 blog posts per year or roughly 1.15 per week.
-34% off them including this one were written this year. Obviously working on things daily has seen the blog post count rip a new hole in the space time continuum all the way on it's epic climb to the moon.
-The most popular post of all time here is still number 1 for all of those ten years and is so far ahead of everything else in terms of popularity, nothing has a hope in hell of catching it. As you may have guessed, it's all about Flo Rida and how much he loves the sport of netball. It's my biggest article ever, it's done so well in revenue, it's the most tweeted and shared work I've ever done, the most commented on and coincidentally, it's one of the earliest things I've ever written here.
Obviously things went dramatically downhill after that one..
-Most people end up here via Google, followed by Google.uk, Google.ca and then my home country Google.au. Facebook then hits the list before Google.in
-Most people reading this page use Safari (36%), so that's quite a lot of Apple users hanging about. Chrome lands in 2nd with 26% share while less than one percent use GSA, whatever that happens to be.
-6% are somehow reading this via iPod. How this works is beyond me but that's what the stats show. 1% via Blackberry.
And I think I just worked out who reads this via Blackberry.. |
-Like the search engines above, the top 4 country locations for people visiting this page are the same - US, UK, Canada and then Australia. A big shout out to the 792 visits from Poland helping boost the numbers over 10 years.
SOME OF THE ARTICLES YOU MAY HAVE MISSED IN THE LAST SIX HUNDRED
And there's nothing like a blast from the past, so let's revisit some of the earlier stuff!
Tis the season for complete apathy - I was in the Christmas mood but a mean old lady at the supermarket certainly wasn't.
Please stop pointing out I'm going to die - Once upon a time it was all about getting up early, doing my work, coming home and vegetating in front of the box. Unfortunately it seemed I picked the time of day when every ad break contained a reminder of my own mortality..
Does not compute - Is it cheaper to build a computer from complete unknown bits off Aliexpress? What could possibly go wrong here?
The mystery of Colin and the boathouse - I was in an Australian production once. The trouble is I don't know which one it was, what it was about or where I can jag a copy of it nowadays to see myself as an extra in one of the bar scenes..
I may have worked with this man, I'm just not sure in what. |
Bits and pizzas - an idiot sideswiped my Mazda, I tried to figure out Twitter and discovered how hard it was to remove a spoiler..
The Great Wall of Michelle Bridges - I went shopping and came across every Michelle Bridges product under the sun. So naturally I came home and suggest a couple more..
Chin up Charlie - Suggestions on what to do when you feel down in the dumps. Pertinent now given the year we've all been having.
There is no mystery here - I thought I'd found a crime scene but no, I'm an idiot.
It's time to go Bixby - Samsung's assistant Bixby turns up when you don't want it to and has somehow got even more irritating with each update..
It's a trap! - I figured out a plumbing issue. Which is amazing for me because I'm the furthest from a plumber you could possible get..
Eurosource - Sometimes you find real gems in a $1 book sale, like a sourcebook for a classic rpg..
Who is who in the Wu - No not the members of the illustrius Wu Tang Clan, this was a guide the characters in the Netflix series Wu Assassins.
Not in Wu Assasins. Sadly. |
Frequently asked questions about Nana Mouskouri - You have questions? I have answers. Answers may not match your questions but here, at least you'll come away learning a thing or two..
And finally..
A dump truck full of makeup - Never heard of this failure of a film? That's not surprising given how many corners were cut and what ended up happening with the final and only copy of it..
Thanks for checking out the 600 so far, here's to the next 600 and here's the celebratory beer tonight. I don't remember the last Hazy anything I drank (I remember waking up hazy plenty of times) but this effort from Golden Pipes Brewery looked too good to pass up. So it's beer and curry night for my Sunday and back to the regular programming tomorrow!
Cheers!
